1. OBEY Vic Episode 1 (Re-Edited) “Weekend at Bernie’s”

Our debut episode of what we hope to continue as a regular puppet web series featuring geeky and twisted humor. Re-edited for better flow thanks to feedback from our viewers. The original long edit can be found here.

Shot entirely on iPhone 4S with OWLE Bubo video rig - Edited with iMovie for Mac. Made with almost no budget and a lot of love.

  3. Carl Erik Rinsch’s “The Gift” (via /Film) You’ll want to watch in HD full screen due to the stupid TV frame. It’s a very cool short, with sci-fi themes and an android.

  4. Sockbaby - An indie film series by Douglas TenNapel the creator of Earthworm Jim. He and some friends made Sockbaby for the fun of it on almost no budget.

It’s surprisingly still mostly un-heard of on the intnernets. I’ve been a fan of Sockbaby since 2004 when I went to a talk by Douglas TenNapel about creating comics at the U of A (in Tucson, AZ) where he showed Sockbaby along with his comics and animation.

Make sure you watch the first 3 episodes before you watch the 4th (featured on the main site).

  5. Star Trek Movie Promotions [via trekmovie.com]

On Frosted Krispies there is an offer for a Star Trek tee shirt designed to look like those from the movie, available . Fans could choose between blue or red, (or gold) and get the shirt by mailing either 9 tokens and an official order form, or 1 token and $9.99.

While the best price for a Trek T-shirt, it may not be the most reliable… “Allow 90 days from receipt of order.”

  6. My friend Ryan brought this comic to my attention before seeing this post on io9.com.

The new 4 part Star Trek comic Countdown reveals the plot setup for the upcoming May 8 2009 Star Trek (original series re-imagining), and crazier yet is a Next Generation tie-in via time travel by the film’s villain Nero. [See the full article on io9.com]

This comic can even be found on iTunes for iPhone and iPod Touch at only $0.99 per issue.

  7. Looks cool! CG/3D animated film produced by Tim Burton.

    High Quality Trailer

A new era in animated storytelling begins on 9.9.09. Visionary filmmakers Tim Burton (The Corpse Bride, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory) and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Nightwatch) join forces to produce wunderkind director Shane Acker’s distinctively original and thrilling tale. 9 stars Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer and Crispin Glover and features the music of Danny Elfman. When 9 (The Lord of the Ring’s Elijah Wood) first comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world. All humans are gone, and it is only by chance that he discovers a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. Despite being the neophyte of the group, 9 convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to survive, and they must discover why the machines want to destroy them in the first place. As they’ll soon come to learn, the very future of civilization may depend on them.

  13. First photos from the new J.J. Abrams Star Trek film

The movie is due to hit the big screen on May 8th, 2009. The photos look great, I just hope there’s a good story that doesn’t mess with the established Star Trek universe history like Enterprise did. [via Digg]
