Hello. I'm Nathaniel Daught, (28) a graphic designer, artist, Mac geek, and gamer. These are my ramblings, photos, links, and art because I sometimes have too much time on my hands... One would assume that you also have too much time on your hands because you are reading this blog. Enjoy.

“Paper” for iPad - Art apps continue to be the only reason I’d ever want an iPad… My iPhone does everything else fine, and I already do art on it.
This is a pretty damn cool-looking app. If I had an iPad and still drew, I’d grab it in a flash. (via Paper for the iPad)
Wacom Inkling +Added to Wish-List!
A new rough “pen doodle” I did using SketchBook Pro on Mac with my Wacom tablet. Started the sketch way at the beginning of the year and pulled it out last night. It’s as finished as I think I want to make it.
This should be a prelude to what is to come from me in the near future… I had been neglecting to draw for too long and want to make it a regular thing again.
So far I really like SketchBook Pro on Mac. It’s definitely more drawing/painting friendly than Photoshop. I also like the ability to save in PSD format by default so Photoshop touch-ups and effects can easily be done with full layer support.
“Hoodie” my latest iPhone painting.
Done on my iPhone 4 using Brushes and a SGP Stylus. Also uploaded on Flickr & Deviantart.
This is my first attempt at using my new SGP Stylus. Most of my past iPhone paintings are done with just my fingers.
Also getting back into iPhone painting after a long break.
Rough iPhone painting “In The Dark”
It’s been sitting on my iPhone unfinished for a while so I put some more work into it and I’m calling it finished now.
Beginning to end vector drawing process of “Mesmerized” by David Lanham:
Here’s the process for a full vector drawing where I don’t really have any preconceptions, just having fun and seeing where the drawing takes me, I picked a base color and ran with it. This is shown at 1200x actual time, speed up from about 4.5 hours of drawing. Final drawing: dlanham.com/art/mesmerized/
Very impressive stuff, I’ve rarely started a drawing from scratch in Adobe Illustrator nor used the brush tools a lot. I usually use Illustrator for precise logo designs, line drawings, and page layouts. This inspires me to try using the brush tools more in Illustrator for my personal creative artwork.
“A Gift” - Done on my iPhone using Brushes. I doodled this concept at least a month ago, but finally got really working on it this week. View in my art gallery.
Download for iPhone wallpaper.
I may also play with the concept of making this into a full size desktop wallpaper.
Robot in Teddy’s Skin - My latest finished Brushes (on iPhone) painting.
It’s been 90% finished since as far back as Nov, so I figured I’d put a few finishing touches on it today and get it up on my blog and site.
It’s slightly Invader Zim inspired with the robot in a plush animal suit.
My first finished Brushes 2.0 beta Painting
I started on this painting last week with the Brushes 2.0 beta 2 (for iPhone). With beta 4 out today I figured I’d rush finish this painting since there’s currently no way to transfer paintings between versions of the application (or to re-imported exported paintings)… *fingers crossed for this feature*
You’ll notice there’s a lot more detail and care put into the robotic arm than the rest of the painting. It did however turnout quite good for rushing the finished product… I would have liked to put more thought and time into the whole suite though.
“Painter Robot” digital sketch: Done with Brushes (for iPhone). A quick sketch, the product of a slow afternoon at work yesterday.
